Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The incumbent in this position is responsible for safely handling guests’ and patrons’ coats and other outwear accessories (scarfs, hats, umbrellas, etc.)

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists guests with the checking in of coats, hats and/or umbrellas in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Issues claims checks for articles checked and returning articles on receipt of check.
  • Fills out “Item Release Forms” for expensive furs or leather coats.
  • Must be always courteous and polite.
  • Maintains cleanliness of coatroom.
  • Maintains hanger tickets to assure numbers are on correct hanger and hanger is in correct slot on rack.
  • Informs next shift of anything that may have happened regarding coatroom.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Attend seminars when needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

 

High School diploma or equivalent required.  The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or related experience.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

 

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

ABILITY TO:

 

  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
  • Must be able to address stressful situation with guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs. 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, use controls, reach with arms and hands, twist, stoop, kneel or crouch.
